Sustainable Consumption Habits
for 2025

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world, contributing to carbon emissions, excessive water consumption and waste generation. However, as consumers, we have the power to reverse this trend through more conscious shopping and choices.

Adopting sustainable consumption habits helps build a future where style and sustainability go hand in hand. With a few simple changes, we can transform our purchases into actions that promote a more sustainable future. Be part of this change and adopt some of our suggestions as resolutions for 2025.

  • Plan your purchases. Avoid impulse purchases and opt for items you really need.

  • Adopt a minimalist style. Reduce excess and value quality over quantity.

  • Research the origin of the materials. Opt for items made from eco-friendly materials, such as Seaqual Fabric (used in Skizo sneakers), recycled cotton or BioCorn. You can find out about all the sustainable materials we use on our materials page, where you will also find each model that uses them.
  • Choose biodegradable and/or vegan materials. Organic cotton (used in Swallow Frogs sneakers), bio-leather and palm raffia are some of the biodegradable materials used by our brands. For those looking for vegan alternatives, materials such as Piñatex (pineapple fibre), uppeal (apple peel fibre) and wastea (fabric with 35% tea waste) are examples of innovative and ecological options. Lazuli , NAE and RC Shoes are brands that exclusively use vegan materials.

  • Avoid low-quality, long-lasting items. Although cheap, these items often have a short lifespan and therefore quickly end up in landfills and encourage overconsumption. J-UNK is one of the brands whose motto is "Buy less, buy better", focusing on the durability of its models.

  • Choose ethical brands. Choose brands that adopt fair and sustainable practices, such as the use of renewable energy, transparency in the production chain and fair pay for workers. In our store, you will only find brands whose values and mission align with these.

  • Support local production. Buying from local producers reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation and supports regional economies. All our brands are produced in Portugal.

  • Consider buying multifunctional models. Choose versatile models that can be used on different occasions, reducing the number of models you need.

  • Avoid excessive packaging. Give preference to brands that use recycled or minimal packaging.

And after purchasing you can still reduce your ecological footprint if:

  • Take good care of the models you buy. Clean and maintain your shoes and clothing. Simple repairs, such as changing soles or sewing small tears, can prevent you from having to replace them.

  • Donate or Recycle. When a piece of clothing no longer fits or is no longer needed, donate it to someone in need or look for textile and footwear recycling initiatives.
